About

Maja Chiara Faber is a Polish audio-visual artist working across contemporary music, experimental filmmaking, intuitive choreography, and large-scale multimedia installations.

Her practice explores esotericism, memory, and fiction. Frequencies and pseudoarchaeology are central to her work, serving as both collaborators and subjects. Her works fuse experimental soundscapes with tactile elements like stone carvings and intuitive movement, creating holistic sensory experiences.

Faber delves into themes of minority identities and prechristian traditions, weaving Slavic cultural and spiritual heritage with contemporary queer narratives. Her work is deeply rooted in healing, fostering community bonds, and challenging conventional notions of identity and belonging. Faber investigates the intersection of spiritual archetypes, collective memory, and speculative futures.

Performing under the alias Satin de Compostela, she composes evocative music that feels to the soul, like the touch of satin on skin, layered with the depth of cathedral bells ringing on a sultry summer day in Santiago de Compostela. As Satin de Compostela, she explores the interplay between sound and ritual. Based between Berlin and Paris.
